Bart Placké, Vice President Automotive at imec and Speaker at Automotive Computing Conference in 2025

Dr. Bart Placklé is Senior Vice President of Automotive Technologies at imec. He holds a Master of Science degree and postgraduate degrees in telecommunications and executive business economics from UHasselt, imec, and KU Leuven (Belgium). 

He began his career at Acunia, an imec spinoff, where he progressed from lead silicon designer to general manager of the hardware business unit. In 2004, he joined Intel, where he founded the company’s in‑vehicle infotainment business and served as chief architect, automotive CTO, and later CTO of AXG Mobility‑as‑a‑Service. He led the development of five generations of high‑performance automotive solutions, helping scale Intel’s automotive activities into a multibillion‑dollar business, and received the Intel Achievement Award in 2016.

Bart returned to imec in 2023, where he now leads automotive technology innovation shaping the future of mobility.
